The Birth of Rock & Roll

Storm clouds gathered over Memphis,
and with the winds of change at hand,
Lightning flashed, and Thunder Rolled,
as it spred across the land,
and they that rose to stop it,
met a force beyond control,
a generation claimed it,
and named it, Rock & Roll!
a mix of country, gosple, pop,
and down-home Delta blues,
all dressed in Flash & Dazzle,
rhinestone suits, and blue suede shoes!
and I, like all the others,
felt the magic, touch my soul,
as I was there to witness
The Birth of Rock & Roll!

Mansion on a hill

Perched upon a hilltop, nestled in amongst the tree's
A stately Southern mansion stands, alve with memories!
A very special person, once lved within these walls,
His voice once filled the inner rooms, and echoed through the halls.
The concerts now have ended, but the music never will,
as long as people come to see, the mansion on the hill.
And still the facination lingers, for all who pass these famous gates,
from every foriegn land on earth, and all the fifty states.
Stone walls surround, this hallowed ground,
where time is standing still.
It's there for we, who've come to see,
the mansion on the hill!
