| My most sencere feelings of sympathy, to Elsie, and all the family, and friends, of Johnny. I am the son, of Johnny's stepfather, (Jeff Davis) However I have never thought of Johnny, as anything less than, My brother, and I was one of his biggest fans, as well! I met Johnny way back in 1964, when I visited my Dad while on leave from the Marine Corps, we spent a week or so together, getting to know each other, and running around, like any other brothers, aged 17, and 15, which we were, at that time. Since then I have had the pleasure of John's company, only when his path brought him close to the Chicago area, but these times were precious to me, and I was always the first to take him around, and show him off to the family, and friends here in Chicago! I even once taveled to Kalamazoo Michigan to see him on stage, and helped sell his albums at the door! I was so proud to be able to brag, that the talented guy, up there on stage was, "My brother!" The Johnny martin, records that I still have in my possesion will always be even more special to me now, than ever before! I loved Johnny, and I am sure you all did too, He had a gift, and shared it with anyone who was lucky enough to hear him sing. Good-bye my brother, you will be missed!
